"I gave away my desk, my dresser...I love this:
"I gave away my desk, my dresser and my bed, and began sleeping in my closet, so my books could have a space all to themselves."

Wow. Just, Wow. And you used to have 3500 books? Makes my 1000 (give or take) seem reasonable! ;-)

How old is Justin Bieber - 16, or has he had a birthday or two? Yeah, I have some of those books hanging around too. I still want to read them, someday, but damn, there are only so many hours in the day!

Thanks for this great post, and enjoy your peanut butter crackers!HeathMochaFrosthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09171967251746524692noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6962009397793446804.post-81176545449665162542010-11-18T22:55:11.808-05:002010-11-18T22:55:11.808-05:00I am right with you on the ode to "Choose You...I am right with you on the ode to "Choose Your Own Adventures." I remember sitting with my fingers stuck in several different pages in case I made the wrong move.

This evening I went in to Barnes & Noble for coffee and walked out with Terrance Hayes's Lighthead and C.D. Wright's new book. I try to cull books and make deals with myself on when I will allow myself another purchase (usually involves finishing what I am reading), but I get tractor beamed into bookstores. I get jazzed that my daughters can't wait to go to the school book fair.

At the same time, there is something freeing about turning boxes loose to Goodwill, etc. Many thanks for sharing.Michael Vallianthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07407688300113271620noreply@blogger.com
